让他们得以长时间在火辣辣的太阳底下卖力工作。由于深得矿工们的青睐，他们便开玩笑说说喝了虎咬狮就如老虎一般强壮，甚至连狮子都可以征服。
从此，虎咬狮便成为了太平家喻户晓的饮料。

“Hor Ka Sai” literally means Tiger bites lion in Hokkien.
It is one of the famous beverage originated from the historical town of Taiping, Perak, Malaysia.
Traditionally, the beverage is a mixture of local coffee, malt chocolate and milk.
Accordingly to the folks, miners in the olden days feel very energetic and resourceful after consuming the beverage and are able to last the long strenuous working hours under the hot sun in the mine.
With such a feeling, they joke that they are strong as a tiger and able to conquer the lion each time after having a cup of “Hor Ka sai.”
It has since been known as a famous beverage for the Taiping folks.
“Hor Ka Sai” has a very aromatic coffee, creamy and concentrated taste yet not so sweet.
